Working with a Moody Person is a course designed to help you deal with a moody person. Moody people certainly impact the work environment- usually for the worse! A moody person's emotions change often and without warning. They can be sullen or unfriendly one minute and friendly and chatty the next. Sometimes their anger is overtly obvious through their body language and sighs. At times, they seem unable to control their frustration, and may even have unexplained outbursts of anger. In this course psychologist Peter Quarry, explains that temporary moodiness usually has legitimate causes, which can be helped. You will also learn to manage your own reactions to continually moody people.
- Check whether the person's mood is temporary or continual
- Don't take the other person's mood personally- remain calm
- Don't reward moodiness that persists or is continual
- Reward desirable behavior with friendliness
