Remembering Names is a course to help everyone who struggles to remember names, especially if they are constantly meeting new people. It's embarrassing to forget names when you have just been introduced. It's easy to forget people's names when you are busy and distracted. But names are important. Remembering and using someone's name shows recognition and respect. It helps people feel more comfortable, and creates more of a connection with them. Studies show that hearing our name activates our brain. In this course psychologist Peter Quarry explains some simple strategies to help remember people's names.
- Pay attention to other people when first meeting them
- Use people's names after being introduced (repetition)
- Anchor people's names through associative memory
- Review meetings and remember names at the end of the day
