PEACE and Respect

PEACE and Respect is a course to help teams and individuals ensure a greater awareness and collaboration. This is especially important where teams comprise different temperaments and behaviors which can cause disagreements, resentment or stress. The presence of differences should not be our main focus but rather how best to work together despite differences. In this course psychologist Eve Ash explains how we can improve communication, respect and caring by creating and maintaining PEACE, a five part strategy. Focusing on the PEACE approach is an important way to improve how we work together, to change competition or even conflict into collaborative problem-solving.

• Demonstrate positivity by signaling positive emotions which others mirror
• Show empathy by being sensitive to other people's feelings, and making an effort to listen and understand
• Develop awareness by building your understanding of people and respecting differences and rights
• Collaborate by listening and giving space to others and finding common ground
• Enlighten others by sharing your knowledge and insights
