About

Psychological safety in any workplace cant be assumed, it must be assessed. Because management styles and procedures come and go, systems and norms change. It's a good idea to engage a neutral party like someone from HR or a consultant, to monitor your organization's psychological safety levels at least on an annual basis. Audits can be done through anonymous surveys or individual interviews. The psychological safety audit could ask people whether they feel valued and recognized, and what their concerns are. Share data with your team and together zero in on what behaviors need to be addressed.

• Assess your workplace by conducting annual audits to uncover if people feel valued and safe.
• Conduct audits that are ideally anonymously, using a third neutral party.
• Ascertain whether people feel valued and safe to speak up by asking a range of questions.
• Share and address the findings with your team.
