In order to demonstrate compassion, we need to really understand the other person's experience. This means being observant about what's going on (reading that person's body language, listening carefully to what they say) and then carefully and sensitively probing when their behavior is impacting their work or other people. The real issue will gradually emerge, and changes can be made for the better.

• Really understand others  learn observational and questioning skills to uncover underlying issues and make changes.
• Learn two skills to help understand others.
• Learn observation skills  reading body language and picking up signs.
• Use gentle questioning to try and understand what is happening to the person and allow space for the real issue will then emerge.
