About

When trying to solve a problem, some opinions and assembled facts appear plausible. A useful rule of thumb is to respectfully receive all input (whether or not you instinctively support it). Don't immediately dismiss what someone has to say. Ask the person to explain how their idea or recommendation might be implemented. Explore an idea or opinion's advantages and disadvantages (a 'cost benefit analysis'). By constructively listing facts, asking questions and assessing a proposal or viewpoint on its merits, you are evaluating an idea logically and systematically, not impulsively.

• Assess other people's views by analyzing them constructively and respectfully.
• Push for details on implementation
• Do a cost-benefit analysis (look at advantages and disadvantages).
• Evaluate ideas logically, not impulsively.
